Sanjes Safari
The best play and animal paradise in the Northern Netherlands! There is an indoor and outdoor play park and you can really go on safari here, there are a lot of different animals to see in the park! You can have a great time here from young to old. There is plenty to see and do for the little ones, but for the older children there is also air hockey and an 18-hole miniature golf course. The park is a 24-minute drive from Lauwersoog, in Feanwalden.
Botanical gardens
De Kruidhof is a botanical garden in Buitenpost, 27 km from the park. Here you will find the largest botanical garden in Friesland. Enjoy 19 beautiful themed gardens including the largest botanical collection of medicinal herbs in Western Europe.
The Hortus Botanicus Haren-Groningen is one of the oldest and largest botanical gardens in the Netherlands. The Hortus, which covers approximately 15 hectares, contains a large number of very different gardens. For children there is a play area, a treasure hunt and you can play bocce. The Botanical garden is located in Haren, 52 km from the park.

It is a wonderful place to learn something about tea, a special accommodation to enjoy a simple cup of tea or an extensive tea table and the right place to find that super nice teapot or exclusive tea.
Aqua Zoo Leeuwarden
There is a lot to discover at AquaZoo all year round! Meet the tigers and playful tiger cubs and learn all about the many special animals that live in and around the water here. Be sure to visit the various educational presentations that are given daily.
AquaZoo is located in Leeuwarden, 40 km from the park.
Winsum
The small streets of the village are ideal for wandering around. You always discover something new. In the Middle Ages the village was a prosperous trading place. It had an open connection to the sea, its own market and coinage rights. You can still find traces of this rich history there. Step inside one of the village's two churches or visit one of the two mills. The water of the Winsumerdiep meanders straight through the streets. Cross the bridge and enjoy the view. Or get into a boat and see Winsum from a completely different side. In Winsum, the pleasant village life is combined with a 'city' range of shops and a number of excellent places to enjoy a snack or a drink. For example, take a seat at De Gouden Karper, one of the oldest inns in the Netherlands. Winsum is 28 km from the park (Note that you take the Winsum in Groningen, west of the park, there are 2)

We are Jordy and Esther and have been renting out our cozy chalets in the Wadden area in Lauwersoog, on the border of Groningen and Friesland, since 2024.
We have 3 young children and thoroughly enjoy everything this beautiful place and the surrounding area has to offer.

Perfecte locatie om van hieruit naar Schiermonnikoog te gaan. En we kregen veel informatie om ons verblijf zo aangenaam mogelijk laten zijn. Een huiselijke chalet, goed warm te krijgen in de winter. Fijne plek voor kinderen met spelletjes en speelgelegenheden op het park.

Uitstekende locatie. Bijna alles heeft onze verwachtingen voldaan. 1 minpuntje was dat niet alle verlichting in de woonkamer (spotjes boven de tafel ) het deed of wij hebben de schakelaar niet kunnen vinden. Verder 👍👍

Sehr freundlicher Kontakt bzgl. der Vermietung und dem Aufenthalt dort - falls Fragen oder Anmerkungen durfte man sich immer melden. Für den Preis absolut top und die Ausstattung innerhalb des Charlets war auch mehr als ausreichend. :)
Contact met verhuurder was prima, zodat boeking en verblijf optimaal was. Handige inrichting voor vriendengroep ivm ligging slaapkamers en twee badkamers. Mooi ingericht, van alle gemakken voorzien en ook goede faciliteiten voor buiten zitten. Wij hebben genoten van het verblijf!
Sehr ruhig und entspannend, ideal zum runterkommen.
Die Unterkunft war sehr sauber und hatte eine gute Lage, wodurch man schnell zu Fuß beim Strand sein konnte. Die Schlüsselübergabe erfolgte Kontaktlos und dadurch war man sehr flexibel. Für den niedrigen Preis kann man auf jeden Fall nicht meckern.
